What you should know about our bike rental service - FAQ

When can I pick up my bike and what time do I have to return it?

Our rental shop is open for you every day from 8:30 a.m. You will of course receive your e-bike completely ready to go with a full battery. If you rent it for a longer period of time, you are welcome to take the bike with you to your accommodation or leave it with us overnight. The latest you can return it on your last rental day is 17:30 p.m.

All e-bikes can be easily charged using a normal socket. You have the option of connecting the charging cable directly to the frame or you can remove the battery using a key. The battery can then be conveniently recharged overnight like a cell phone. You need to allow around 8 hours for a full charge.

The weight limit is specified by the manufacturer and is a safety-relevant factor. Spokes, rims and braking systems are subjected to a great deal of stress, especially on e-bikes, due to the higher speeds and greater weight. Overloading can lead to falls and accidents.

The frame sizes of our rental bikes are all given in US sizes "S to XL". However, to book via our online shop or on site, you only need your height in cm and we will be happy to advise you. All bikes have adjustable saddles and will be adjusted with you on site.

You're welcome to rent our trailers if you're bringing your own bike. It's important that you bring a suitable adapter axle for your bike. Since there are many different types and sizes, we unfortunately don't always have them in stock. Please check beforehand whether mounting the adapter axle on your bike is possible.

Depending on the selected assistance level and the elevation gain you cover with the e-bike, you have a range of 40 to 120 km. Another relevant factor is the rider's weight. Based on experience, you can expect a range of approximately 60 to 70 km on one of our classic tours around Oberstdorf.

We do not have spare batteries for our rental bikes as they are very heavy and bulky to transport. However, the capacity of one battery charge is usually sufficient for the entire day, so replacing the battery is not necessary.

With a hardtail you get a mountain bike with a suspension fork on the front wheel. With a fully, the rear frame is also equipped with suspension. This makes the fully even better suited for riding on the trail and off-road.
