What you should know about our children's ski school:

Own children's area at the Seealpe station

Our lovingly designed children's area at Seealpe offers everything children need for a perfect start: a conveyor belt, a rope tow, and even an indoor kindergarten for warming up and relaxing. In this safe environment, children can practice, play, and learn without stress and with lots of fun.

Small groups for big progress

Whether it's kids' camps or the Mini Club, we deliberately focus on small groups. A maximum of six children per ski instructor in the camp and a maximum of four children in the Mini Club ensure particularly individualized attention. This allows us to focus intensively on each child and create groups that are as homogeneous as possible – for rapid and reliable learning success.

For all levels: From beginners to little ski pros

The Nebelhorn offers perfect conditions for every learning level. After the first few meters on the gentle slopes of our children's area, the course continues onto the wide, blue slopes at the Höfatsblick station. We gradually increase the difficulty until the bravest kids can even master the black slope from the summit to the valley. A special highlight: Germany's longest valley run, at an impressive 7,5 kilometers.

NTC Miniclub - the ski kindergarten for the very youngest children

In our Mini Club, even the very youngest can gain their first experiences in the snow. From the age of 4, children start at our ski kindergarten at the Seealpe and discover the world of winter sports step by step – playfully, safely, and with lots of fun.

Best location in the heart of Oberstdorf

Getting to the ski school is very easy: All children's ski courses start directly at the valley station of the Nebelhornbahn, right in the center of Oberstdorf. It's a relaxing walk to the ski school – and thanks to our depot, you can conveniently leave your skis and boots there overnight for a stress-free start to your new day of skiing the next morning.

FAQ - Here you will find answers to questions about our children's ski courses

From what age can children attend ski school?

Our Mini Club is for children aged 4 and up. Here, they'll have their first experiences in the snow and on skis through play. Our Kids Camps start at age 6. If you'd like to book a family course together, we recommend that the children are older than 10 so that the learning pace and methodology are compatible.

First, you will need complete equipment such as skis, ski boots, and a helmet (helmets are mandatory). You can rent this from our shops at the valley stations.

The children should be dressed warmly and in waterproof clothing and will need gloves and goggles (snow goggles or sunglasses - both can be purchased in our shops).

Please apply sunscreen to your children in the morning, even on cloudy days.

The children become familiar with their ski equipment and start with skis on their feet right from the beginning. After a short familiarization period, they take their first short descents on very gentle terrain.

The first course objective is to learn to brake independently. Only then will small changes of direction in snowplow mode follow.

Our courses always take place at one of our own ski school lifts (conveyor belt or cable lift) from the very beginning.

All participants in the ski courses need a lift ticket, which is not included in the course price.

Children up to 6 years old receive a discounted "Marmot Pass"; after that, they receive a regular children's ski pass. We recommend booking a multi-day pass directly through the Kids Camps, as this is cheaper.

Our Kids Camps and Mini Club meet at 9:15 am at the valley station of the Nebelhorntrain. You will find our meeting point directly in the station forecourt.

If you have booked a private lesson in the afternoon, please meet at the mountain. Ask in our shops for the meeting point (it varies depending on your skiing ability).

The meeting point for our group courses and camps is always at 9:15 am.
Together they then go up the mountain with the ski instructor.

The course starts at approximately 9:30 am in the snow and ends at 12:30 pm. Please arrange with the instructor individually whether you would like to pick up your children from the mountain or in the valley.

Our Kids Camps have a maximum of 6 participants per teacher, so that the learning progress and individual support of the kids are the main focus.

You provide a rough estimate of your children's riding ability when booking. On the first day, our instructors will check if the groups are a good fit or if any changes are needed. The group assignments will then remain the same for the rest of the course.

Our Mini Club is designed for a maximum of 5 children per teacher. If there are more participants, an additional teacher will always be brought in to assist. There is no fixed group, as the participants change frequently.

If you or your children have already been on skis or a snowboard and can independently ski and brake for the first few meters, you already belong to the "Beginner Plus" group. We will then further assess the specific level reached on-site. The information provided by the children's ski school serves as an initial, general classification.

Please select "Beginner" as your level if you have no prior experience, or if you still find it difficult to brake independently or to turn on a snowboard. You belong to the "Expert" category if you can already handle red slopes well.

Of course, it's not uncommon for younger children in the Mini Club to be a little apprehensive at first. However, our ski instructors are always dedicated to gently motivating the children and introducing them to skiing in a playful way. Often, a short break, a little snowball fight, or a comforting gummy bear is all it takes to break the ice and spark their enthusiasm for learning.

Should things not work out at all, we will of course find a suitable solution together with you on site.

You can cancel your ski course free of charge up to 24 hours before the course starts, after which the full course fee will be charged. In this case, please write us a short email or call us.

We strongly recommend booking your course well in advance. Especially during holiday periods, our courses are often no longer available at short notice. Since you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the course starts, your risk is minimal.
